DescriptionHarvested from the Hala Tree (Pandanus Odoratissimus),
the finest quality natural palm in the world. The Hala
tree was very important to the Polynesians since it is
indigenous to the Polynesian Islands. Its leaves are used
to make floor mats, wall mats and roofing materials. Island
Thatch chooses premium only, earth friendly Lauhala,
matting and offer them to you in 4 ft x 8 ft sheets that
have been all hand woven using palm leaves to form a 1"
diamond checkered pattern. The flexible and durable matting,
achieved through intensively focused labor by hand, can be
cut or trimmed without the risk of unraveling. Glue or staple
the matting to any surface and begin to realize a tropical ambiance immediately.
